How long does a diabetic eye exam take?

My husband has diabetes, and his doctor told him to get regular eye exams. We're trying to schedule one. Roughly how much time should we set aside for a diabetic eye exam?

Dude, a diabetic eye exam, especially if they dilate your pupils, can take a while. From start to finish, including waiting, eye drops, and the actual check-up, it can easily be an hour to an hour and a half. So plan accordingly, don't schedule anything important right after.

I just had one last month. If they do the full dilated exam, count on at least an hour, maybe a bit more. The drops take time to work. Don't forget your sunglasses for afterwards, the light can be annoying. Super important exam though, don't skip it.

Oh, a diabetic eye exam! I was reading about that. So, they usually dilate your eyes, right? That means it takes longer. I heard it can be around an hour or even more, including the wait and everything. It's important for diabetes management, though.

I totally get that you're asking about the time, it's always good to be prepared. A diabetic eye exam often involves dilating your pupils, which adds to the time. So, from start to finish, including waiting, it can easily be 45 minutes to 90 minutes. Don't plan to drive immediately after!

It can take some time, especially when they dilate the eyes. Use that waiting time for some deep breathing and calming your mind. This exam is very important for overall health, so give it the patience it needs. Focus on your breath.
