How long do you have to smoke to get cancer?

I've been smoking for many years now, and while I know it's bad, I keep putting off quitting. My wife keeps telling me about the risk of cancer. I was just wondering, roughly how many years of smoking does it take for the risk of cancer to become significant?

Beti, smoking is very bad. My neighbour, he used to smoke from young age, and then got very sick. It doesn't take too long, sometimes even a few years can cause problems. It's best not to start at all. Please take care of your body.

Honestly, I saw my uncle, he smoked for just 10-15 years and got lung issues. Others smoke their whole life and seem fine, but it's like playing Russian roulette. There's no fixed time, it's pure risk. Best to just avoid it completely.

It's a really tough question because it's so unpredictable. Some people smoke for decades and get nothing, others just for a few years and face serious health problems. The uncertainty itself is scary. It's just not worth the risk, emotionally and physically. Quitting is the only way to feel safe.

There's no set duration for how long you need to smoke to get cancer; even occasional smoking increases risk. It's like how thyroid issues can develop at any age. The best approach for both is prevention and regular check-ups. Quitting smoking is the most important step to reduce health risks.

There's no 'minimum period' to get cancer from smoking; the risk starts from the first cigarette and accumulates. Anyone telling you otherwise or trying to sell you some 'detox' is misleading you. The only verified way to reduce the risk is to stop smoking completely and consult a doctor if you need help with quitting.

There's no magic number of years or cigarettes. Every single puff does damage. Some people get cancer after a decade, others after much longer, but the risk is always there. My advice? Don't even start, or quit if you have. Protect your body, you only get one.

Yaar, iska koi fixed answer nahi hai. Log bolte hain 'itna saal piye toh theek hai,' but na, aisa kuch nahi hai. Even thoda sa bhi smoking risk badha deta hai. Mere neighbourhood mein ek uncle the, 10 saal mein hi unko problem ho gayi. Best hai ki mat hi piyo, haan?

Smoking and cancer isn't about 'how long.' It's about 'any length.' Even a few years or occasional smoking increases your risk significantly. Why compromise your lungs and fitness for something so harmful? Instead, focus on building healthy habits like walking and exercise. Ditch the smoke, embrace health!
