How long do newborns sleep at a time?
Our baby is barely a month old and I'm a bit concerned about her sleep. She sleeps for very short stretches and then wakes up. Is it normal for newborns to sleep for only a short time at once?

I'm still learning about this, but I think I heard they sleep for short bursts? Like, just a few hours. Does that mean parents really don't get much sleep at all then?
Honestly, when my little one was a newborn, he'd sleep for like 2-3 hours max. Then feed, nappy change, and maybe another 2-3 hours. The first few months are just short cycles, you can forget about a full night's sleep for a while!
From what I've read and heard, newborns usually sleep for 2-4 hours at a stretch because they need to feed frequently. But every baby is different, so it's always good to talk to your pediatrician about your specific baby's patterns.
It can feel so overwhelming when they only sleep for short periods. My baby would sleep for maybe 1.5 to 3 hours at a time, and it felt never-ending. It's totally normal if you're struggling with the broken sleep, just know you're not alone.
Yaar, newborns hardly sleep for long stretches, actually. Maximum 2-3 hours I'd say. Then they need feeding or a nappy change. It's a proper struggle for parents in the first few months, for sure.
My grand-niece, when she was born, would sleep for maximum 3 hours. Then she would wake up for feeding. It was a cycle, very tiring for the new mother. But it passed after a few months.
A newborn's sleep is usually short, about 2-3 hours at a time, for feeding and comfort. It's a natural rhythm for them. Parents can try to match their rest cycles with the baby's, finding peace in the present moment.
For newborns, typical sleep stretches are 2-4 hours. This is mostly because they need to eat every few hours. Don't worry if your baby isn't sleeping for long stretches yet, it's completely normal for their age. Gradually, it gets better!
Usually, newborns sleep for about 2 to 4 hours at a time, mostly because they need to be fed so frequently. Their tiny tummies can't hold much milk, so they get hungry fast. It's tough on parents, but it's how they grow!

Usually, newborns sleep for 2-3 hours at a time. The trick is to try and sleep when the baby sleeps, even if it's just for half an hour. Everything else can wait. That's how we managed, taking turns.
Oh, newborns sleep in such short bursts! My children, when they were little, would barely sleep for two or three hours before needing to be fed. It feels like forever when you're going through it, but it truly does get better with time. Have patience.
At Apollo, the doctors told us newborns typically sleep in stretches of 2 to 4 hours. But seriously, if you have any specific concerns about your baby's sleep or feeding, the best person to ask is your pediatrician directly. They'll give you accurate info.
