How long do infants sleep?

My sister just had her first baby, and she's exhausted! The little one seems to sleep so much. We were wondering, how long do infants typically sleep in a 24-hour period?

Honestly, don't stress too much about fixed hours! Newborns can sleep a lot, like 14-17 hours in a 24-hour cycle, but it's broken into short bursts. As they grow, it gets a bit more regular. Every baby is different, so chill, mama!

Newborns sleep a lot, often 14-17 hours a day, but in short stints. As they get older, the total sleep reduces slightly, and stretches become longer. Gentle massages and a quiet environment can help. But if your baby is unusually sleepy or fussy, always consult a pediatrician; don't rely only on home tips.

Oh, infant sleep is a wild ride! My baby used to sleep for just 2-3 hours at a stretch initially, accumulating about 15 hours a day. We tried everything from swaddling to white noise. It eventually gets better, but it's rarely a full night's sleep for you until they're much older. Just survive, mama!

Ah, the days of infant sleep! Newborns sleep quite a lot, sometimes 16-18 hours a day, but in short cycles, waking frequently for feeds. It's perfectly normal. Don't worry if your baby isn't sleeping through the night; it takes time. They will eventually develop a pattern, just be patient and cherish these moments.

Chhote bachche toh bahut sote hain beta. Jab bilkul naye hote hain, toh 16-17 ghante bhi so lete hain, thode-thode time ke liye. Dheere-dheere unki neend kam hoti hai aur ek baar mein zyada sote hain. Har bachcha alag hota hai, toh chinta mat karo.

Infants, especially newborns, sleep a lot, often 14-17 hours in 24 hours, but in short bursts. My mother always said every baby is different, so don't compare. If you are concerned about too much or too little sleep, it's always best to speak with your pediatrician, they will give the right advice.

Infant sleep patterns vary greatly. Newborns typically sleep for 14-17 hours a day, but in short, frequent naps. It's very different from adult sleep. If you have any concerns about your baby's sleep, growth, or development, it's always best to consult their pediatrician for a proper check-up, just like we do for our thyroid levels.
