How long can you live with stage 5 kidney failure?

My colleague's father has just been diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure. It's a tough situation for their family. I wanted to know, how long can someone generally live with such advanced kidney failure?

Stage 5 kidney failure is super serious, but with modern treatments, people can still live for many years! Dialysis and kidney transplants have given so many a second chance at life. Don't lose hope, and consult with the doctors for the best plan! 💪

Oh god, 'stage 5 kidney failure' sounds like the scariest thing ever. My heart literally sank reading this. Did anyone else feel this much dread? I can't imagine how tough it must be for someone going through it. Only doctors can really answer this, I guess.

Very serious condition. Dialysis or a transplant are life-saving treatments for stage 5 kidney failure. Focus on medical guidance.

Hey, I know this sounds terrifying, but please don't stress too much just yet. Stage 5 kidney failure definitely needs immediate and serious medical intervention like dialysis or a transplant, but people do live for years and years after that. Get to a good nephrologist ASAP, that's the main thing!

I can only imagine the fear you're feeling. While I always look for ways to heal naturally, for stage 5 kidney failure, home remedies are absolutely not enough. This requires critical medical care, either dialysis or a transplant. Please ensure the person receives immediate, specialized medical attention. There's no other way.
