How long can you live with kidney and liver failure?

My mother's health has been deteriorating, and the doctors say both her kidneys and liver are failing. It's a very scary situation for us. I want to know, how long can someone live with both kidney and liver failure?

This sounds like a very critical situation to deal with. My relative is facing something similar, and I wanted to ask if dialysis or a transplant is usually recommended immediately in these cases?

In my long life, I have seen many people fight severe illnesses with modern medicine and pure willpower. If both organs are failing, it is indeed a very serious stage, but with continuous medical support like dialysis, patients can get comfortable time with their families.

Please understand that combined kidney and liver failure is an extreme medical emergency that cannot be managed at home. You need to consult a nephrologist and hepatologist immediately at a multi-specialty hospital. Do not delay professional care for even a day.

For mild issues, I always suggest herbal teas or simple diets, but this is a very big matter. When kidney and liver both are struggling, home remedies will not work. Please take the patient to a big hospital immediately.

My elders always say that keeping the patient calm and comfortable helps a lot in tough times. However, we must completely trust the specialists and their treatment plan here. Proper clinical care is the only way to manage such advanced organ issues.

As someone managing diabetes for fifteen years, I know how easily high sugars can damage other organs. In cases of organ failure, you must be extremely strict about their diet as advised by their clinical nutritionist. Even a small dietary mistake can put extra pressure on their body.

I know how heartbreaking and stressful it is to watch a family member go through this struggle. It feels completely overwhelming and scary every single day. Please take care of your own mental health while being there for them, and stay close to their doctors.

Managing a complex condition requires tracking everything very closely with regular tests. Make sure you keep a file of all blood reports, creatinine levels, and liver enzymes for the doctor to review during every visit. Continuous medical follow-up is absolutely necessary.
