How long can you live with colon cancer?

A close friend of mine just got diagnosed with colon cancer. We are all trying to be supportive. I'm looking for some general information on the prognosis. How long can a person live with colon cancer?

Colon cancer is highly treatable if detected early, with many patients living for decades. Keeping your lifestyle active and getting regular screening colonoscopies after age 45 is extremely important.

Many patients survive colon cancer and live completely normal, long lives after successful chemotherapy and surgery. Just ensure they get home-cooked, easily digestible meals and plenty of emotional support during recovery.

A high-fiber diet with plenty of leafy greens can support bowel health, but please do not rely on natural remedies to treat cancer. Go see an oncologist immediately for proper surgical and medical therapy.

Regular physical activity and a balanced diet low in red meat have been shown to improve survival rates in colon cancer patients. Stay active, eat clean, and trust the medical process.

My father's oncologist told us that the 5-year survival rate for localized colon cancer is around 90%. Early staging is key, so getting treated at a well-reputed oncology center is your best path forward.
