How long can you live with cirrhosis of the liver?

My uncle has been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, and his health has been declining. It's a very difficult time for our family. I want to know, generally, how long can someone live with cirrhosis?

If cirrhosis is diagnosed early and you stop alcohol or high-fat foods completely, you can manage it with medications for many years. It is best to consult a good government hospital for affordable long-term monitoring.

My uncle has had liver cirrhosis for over 8 years now. He strictly takes his meds, has completely cut out salt and oil, and is doing reasonably well. It's all about discipline.

Actually, you can live for a very long time with compensated cirrhosis if you take care, yaar. Just make sure to get regular scans to check for any fluid build-up or other issues.

Please do not trust any ayurvedic or herbal 'cures' for cirrhosis on the internet, as they can cause severe liver failure. Only trust a registered gastroenterologist's prescription for managing this condition.

I know hearing the term cirrhosis is incredibly scary for any family. But with proper lifestyle management and medical support, many people live comfortable, long lives, so please don't lose hope.
