How long can you go without sleep before hallucinations?

I've been pulling all-nighters for my exams and honestly, I'm starting to feel a bit weird. Someone told me you can start seeing things if you don't sleep enough. Is that true? Like, how long does it take for that to happen?

Usually, hallucinations can start after 48 to 72 hours of complete sleep deprivation. Instead of spending money on expensive sleep clinics and brain tests later, it is much cheaper and safer to set a proper routine and sleep on time now.

Typically, visual and auditory hallucinations begin after about 72 hours of total sleep deprivation because the brain enters a waking-dream state. If you are experiencing sleep issues of this level, seeking professional medical advice is definitely the best course of action.

In our college days, some boys tried to stay awake for 3 days for fun, and by the third day, they were seeing things that weren't there. It is a very real thing, so please respect your body and get your 7 hours of rest.

Hallucinations can start around the 3-day mark due to extreme neurological fatigue. I strongly recommend visiting a good hospital and consulting a sleep specialist or neurologist if your insomnia is reaching this stage.

Listen, your brain will start playing weird games with you after just 2 days of no sleep. Don't push yourself to that point; just drink a glass of water, switch off your mobile, and go to sleep right now.
