How long can you go without sleep before death?

My friend and I were talking about how much sleep we get, and he mentioned he barely sleeps sometimes for days because of his startup work. It got me thinking, how long can someone actually stay awake before it becomes really dangerous?

Extreme sleep deprivation can become fatal after 10 to 14 days, though the body usually forces micro-sleeps before that. Please do not try to push yourself to these limits.

Your organs will start failing if you go without sleep for more than a week. Try drinking warm ashwagandha milk or listening to soothing music to sleep, but if you are suffering from total sleeplessness for days, go to a doctor immediately.

I totally get it, insomnia can be so terrifying that you start fearing the absolute worst. Please take a deep breath and know that your body will naturally force you to sleep long before it reaches a fatal point.

In all my years, I've seen people get very sick from lack of sleep, but the body has a natural reflex to pass out and sleep before death can happen. Don't worry so much, just focus on relaxing your mind.

Bhai, why are you even searching this? Your brain and heart cannot survive past 10-11 days without sleep, and you will start hallucinating way before that. Put the phone down, close your eyes, and rest.

I once stayed awake for 3 days straight for a gaming tournament and felt like I was literally dying. My chest was hurting and my vision got blurry. Trust me, sleep is not something you want to mess around with.

Hey, don't stress too much about these extreme scenarios! Your body's defense mechanism is very strong and it will put you to sleep automatically long before any real danger occurs. Just relax!

I can only share that during my post-graduation, I went 48 hours without sleep and the physical toll was horrible. I would never suggest anyone test how long they can survive without it; it is simply dangerous.
