How long can tb live on surfaces?

I was discussing public health with a friend, and the topic of TB came up. I was curious to know, how long can the TB bacteria live on different surfaces? Is it easily spread through touch?

Having just finished my long TB medication course, I researched this a lot. The bacteria can actually survive on dry surfaces from a few weeks to even months if the room is dark and damp. Sunlight and proper ventilation are the biggest enemies of TB germs, so keep windows open.

Yes, the bacteria can survive on surfaces for weeks if there's no sunlight. But along with surface cleanliness, eating immunity-boosting vegetarian food like fresh fruits, leafy greens, and amla is very important to keep your body's natural defenses strong against any such infections.

In our younger days, TB was very feared, but we always knew that fresh air and direct sunlight kill the bacteria very quickly on surfaces. While the germs can linger on dust in dark spots, regular cleaning and keeping the house airy keeps everyone safe. Don't worry too much, just keep things hygienic.

Let's be realistic, TB bacteria can technically survive on surfaces for quite a while, sometimes months in dust. But transmission mostly happens through inhaling droplets directly from an infected person coughing, not just touching a table. Just sanitize common areas and don't stress needlessly.

We can use natural disinfectants like camphor and regular neem water mopping to keep home surfaces clean, as TB germs can stay in damp corners for weeks. However, if anyone in the house has a persistent cough for over two weeks, please skip home remedies and take them to a doctor immediately for a test.
