How long can sun stroke last?

My son had a bit of a sunstroke yesterday after playing cricket in the afternoon. He's feeling better now, but I was wondering, how long does sunstroke generally last? Should I still be concerned about residual effects?

I got hit by severe sun stroke during a site visit in peak Rajasthan summer. The worst fever and headache lasted for about 2 to 3 days, but the body weakness dragged on for almost a week. Drink plenty of nimbu paani with salt, and avoid going back out in the heat until you feel 100% fine.

A bad heat stroke can completely drain your muscles and throw off your hydration levels. It takes at least 48 to 72 hours for your internal temperature and electrolyte balance to reset. Skip your workouts completely, drink ORS, and focus on clean, light meals till your energy returns.

I was just reading up on this because my cousin fainted in the sun yesterday. Apparently, mild heat exhaustion resolves in a day with rest, but a proper sun stroke is a medical emergency that can affect your organs and take days to recover from. Definitely better to consult a doctor if the fever doesn't go down.

When my heart rate tracker showed an unusually high resting rate after a hot run, I realized I had mild heat stroke. It took about 4 days of tracking my hydration and sleep before my vitals returned to my normal baseline. Keep a close watch on your body temperature and fluid intake.
