How long can someone live with kidney failure?

A close family friend is currently battling kidney failure and it's been really tough on everyone. I'm trying to gather as much information as possible to support them. What is the typical life expectancy for someone with kidney failure?

Please be very careful because when kidney failure strikes, toxins can build up rapidly and cause sudden issues like fluid in the lungs. My father had a major emergency because we delayed dialysis by a week. You must stay in constant touch with your nephrologist and monitor urine output closely.

With kidney failure, a strict renal diet is absolutely lifesaver. You must avoid high-potassium foods like potatoes, bananas, and tomatoes, and limit your protein intake to avoid extra load on the kidneys. Always get a customized diet chart from a renal dietician to manage the condition safely.

Even with dialysis, keeping your body active is key to maintaining cardiovascular health and muscle strength. If your nephrologist clears you, try doing gentle 20-minute daily walks to keep your circulation good and boost your mood. Just avoid any heavy lifting or high-intensity workouts that stress the body.

My friend's father is on dialysis twice a week and honestly, he still goes to his office and leads a pretty active life. It's tough initially to adjust to the routine, but it's totally manageable once you get into the groove. Just stay positive!

I literally spend hours reading about kidney failure and it makes me so anxious, but what I've learned is that dialysis and kidney transplants have come a long way. People live for 5, 10, or even 20 years with proper management! Please don't lose heart, just take it one day at a time and follow the doctor's plan.

You can drink light coriander seed water to help reduce swelling naturally, but please remember that kidney failure cannot be cured by home remedies alone. If you notice any shortness of breath, severe vomiting, or sudden swelling in the face, please rush to the hospital immediately as these are dangerous signs.
