How long can liver inflammation last?

My friend was diagnosed with some liver inflammation a few weeks ago after feeling unwell. He's on medication now. How long can liver inflammation typically last, or is it different for everyone depending on the cause?

If it is acute, it can take 2 to 4 weeks to settle down, which means zero oily food and zero spicy curries. Trust me, staying on boiled food for that long is the hardest part, but you have to do it for your liver!

Liver inflammation can sometimes linger for a few weeks or even months if it is chronic fatty liver. I'd say don't guess the timeline on your own. It is always better to get an LFT test done and let a doctor guide you.

It can go on for months if you don't treat the root cause. I suggest getting a basic Liver Function Test (LFT) first—it costs around 500-800 rupees in local labs—before buying expensive liver tonics that might not even work.

Depending on the cause, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months to fully heal. Keep your diet clean, avoid supplements or alcohol completely during this phase, and let the liver recover naturally with light walking.

My liver enzymes were high last year and it took almost 6 weeks of strict diet and zero junk food to get the swelling down. It takes time, bro, you can't rush it. Just stick to what the doctor says.

I had mild liver inflammation due to some medication side effects, and it took about a month to get back to normal. Just eat simple ghar ka khana like khichdi and avoid heavy foods. It gets better, just give it some time.

Don't panic. If it is a temporary viral thing, it should start improving in 2-3 weeks with rest and a simple diet. Just take care of yourself, avoid self-medicating, and let's get a repeat test done after a month to be safe.
