How long can kidney stones go untreated?

My brother has kidney stones, but he's been delaying seeing a doctor because of work. I'm really concerned. How long can kidney stones safely go untreated before it causes serious issues?

Listen, don't stress too much about it, but leaving it untreated is not a good idea at all. If it's small, it might pass quietly, but if it blocks the path, the pain is crazy. Just show a doctor soon and get an ultrasound done, sorted!

I ignored a 6mm stone for three months thinking it would go away, and ended up in the emergency room with severe infection. Trust me, do not wait more than a couple of weeks if you know you have one. Get an expert opinion and drink coconut water daily.

Actually yaar, leaving it untreated for long is super risky. My uncle did that and his kidney got swollen, which was quite scary. Why take the chance when you can easily get it checked and cleared up?

People online will tell you to drink some special juice to dissolve it, but that is all nonsense and highly dangerous. If left untreated, kidney stones can cause permanent organ damage. Please go to a proper urologist and get a scan done instead of relying on internet advice.

I was reading some medical articles and apparently, stones can sit there quietly for months or even years without symptoms. But the moment they move or block the urine flow, they cause major damage. Better not to test your luck with this.

Leaving it untreated is bad for your fitness levels because it can silently affect kidney function. Keep your hydration super high and reduce excessive sodium or spinach if you are prone to stones. Definitely get it scanned before planning any heavy workout routines.
