How long can kidney infection pain last?

My wife has been having this really bad back pain, and the doctor said it might be a kidney infection. She started her medicines, but the pain is still there. How long does it typically take for kidney infection pain to subside after starting treatment?

Beta, kidney pain is very troublesome and can take a week to settle. Along with the doctor's tablets, drink plenty of warm water and barley water (jau ka paani) to flush things out. Do not take it lightly and keep resting.

Once the antibiotics start, the sharp pain should come down in 3 to 4 days. I kept doing light walks inside the house just to keep the blood flowing, but only because my doctor said it was okay. Don't push yourself physically till the infection cleared up completely.

Look, don't expect magic in two days. A real kidney infection is serious and will pain for a week or more. Take your antibiotics on time, eat simple food, and stop searching online—just follow the doctor's instructions quietly.

Bhai, it took me a solid week of heavy antibiotics to stop feeling that horrible lower back pain. First 3 days were pure torture, couldn't even sit. Just finish your full course of meds even if pain goes away early.

Realistically, expect to be out of action for at least 5 to 7 days. Even if the severe back pain reduces in 48 hours after starting medicines, the weakness and dull ache take time to go. Take proper sick leave and don't rush back to work.

That pain makes you feel like someone is playing football inside your back! But don't worry, once the doc's missiles (antibiotics) hit, the pain starts packing its bags in 3-4 days. Just keep a water bottle glued to your hand.

True, it easily takes around 5 to 7 days for the pain to go. Please make sure you are drinking enough fluids throughout the day.

It took me almost 10 days to feel completely normal when I had it. Since I have high BP, I had to be extra careful with medicines and keep checking my creatinine levels. Please get your kidney function checked once the pain stops.
