How long can cavities go untreated?

I've been postponing a dental visit for a while now due to work, and I think I might have a small cavity. I'm wondering how long it's safe to leave a cavity untreated before it causes serious problems.

Honestly, don't leave cavities untreated for more than a few weeks. A simple filling costs very little right now, but if you delay it, the decay will reach the nerve. Then you will have to pay thousands for a root canal and a cap, which will totally mess up your monthly budget.

I track all my health appointments on an app, and my dentist recommended not waiting more than 1-2 months after spotting a cavity. Microbes can slowly destroy the enamel, and before you know it, you are dealing with deep structural damage. Better to get a quick checkup done.

I ignored a tiny cavity for six months because I didn't want to skip my weekend jalebis and gulab jamuns. Big mistake! It suddenly started hurting so badly that I couldn't even drink cold water. Get it fixed before it ruins your love for food.

You can try oil pulling with coconut oil or warm saltwater rinses to temporarily control the bacteria, but this will not cure an existing cavity. If left for a few months, the decay will go deep and cause severe pain. Please go to a dentist to get it filled properly.

Hey! Cavities can hang around quietly for months without pain, but they are secretly growing deeper! 😬 It is always best to catch them early with a quick dental visit before they turn into a major headache. Smile bright!

Hey, don't stress too much about it, but definitely don't put it off for too long either. A cavity can slowly rot the tooth over several months, which is not fun. Just book a quick dentist appointment this weekend and get it sorted!

Cavities can progress slowly over months, but they never heal on their own. It is best to visit a dentist early so you don't have to suffer from painful toothaches later. Please take care.
