How long can a type 1 diabetic survive without insulin?

I have a friend with Type 1 diabetes, and sometimes she forgets her insulin doses when she's really busy. I'm concerned and want to know how serious it is if someone with Type 1 misses their insulin.

I completely understand how overwhelming and scary it is to think about these medical emergencies. It can honestly keep you up at night worrying. But please know that for Type 1 diabetes, insulin is an absolute daily necessity. Going without it for even a couple of days can lead to a severe condition called DKA, so please stay safe and consult a doctor.

Bro, seriously don't try this or let anyone do it. My roommate has Type 1 and he has to carry his insulin pen everywhere, even to exams. He told me that if he misses it for even a day or two, he can end up in the ICU. It is super risky.

While drinking jamun seed powder or karela juice is good for general sugar control, it will not work for Type 1 diabetes. Their body does not produce any insulin naturally, so home remedies cannot replace the daily injections. Please do not stop the insulin and always consult your doctor.

Listen to me, this is extremely critical. A Type 1 diabetic cannot survive without insulin for more than a few days because dangerous acids build up in the blood. If you or someone you know is facing trouble getting their insulin, please contact a hospital or an emergency clinic immediately. Do not delay.

Pranayama and a peaceful mind can help manage stress and improve overall wellbeing, but they cannot replace insulin for a Type 1 diabetic. The physical body requires this external hormone to process energy. Please follow your doctor's medical prescription strictly without fail.
