How long can a toddler have a fever?

My 2-year-old has had a fever for two days now and it's making me a bit anxious. When should I start getting really worried about a toddler's fever?

My niece had a fever last month and it literally kept us awake for three whole days. The doctor told us that a viral run is usually 3-4 days max. Just keep tracking the temperature every few hours and give sponge baths if it spikes.

Usually, a simple viral fever in kids settles down in 2 to 3 days with proper rest and fluids. Keep the room well-ventilated and let their small body fight it out naturally while keeping a close eye. If it goes beyond 3 days or if the baby looks very weak, please consult your doctor immediately.

My son had a crazy high fever last week that lasted for about 2 days. We panicked and ran to our pediatrician, but he said don't worry unless it crosses 3 full days. Just give the prescribed paracetamol syrup on time and they should be fine.

When my little nephew got a fever, he refused his favorite apple puree for almost 3 days, which was so heartbreaking. The fever went away on the fourth day and his appetite slowly came back. Just feed them light khichdi or coconut water when they feel like eating.

I was reading about this on a pediatric blog recently because my friend's kid fell sick. Most doctors say 3 days is normal for common infections, but if it touches 102 degrees or doesn't go down with medicine, you shouldn't wait at all.

Haan na, baccho ko fever aata hai toh we get so stressed out. Normal viral fever 3 din mein theek ho jata hai generally. Just make sure you do light cold-water sponging on their forehead and don't skip the doctor's dose.

Hey! Usually these tiny tots bounce back in 2 to 3 days. Just keep them hydrated with warm water and fresh juices. Lots of cuddles and rest will do the trick, but keep the pediatrician's number handy just in case! ❤️

Honestly, I get so anxious even with a mild warm forehead, so I totally feel your stress. My doctor says anything beyond 3 days needs a proper blood test to rule out other things. Please keep a digital thermometer nearby and write down the readings every 4 hours so you can show the doc.

Take a deep breath, it is very common for toddlers to get these sudden fevers. Usually, it should resolve within 48 to 72 hours. But if you see any breathing trouble, extreme lethargy, or if the baby is not passing urine, take them to the clinic right away. Don't self-medicate too much.

Kids are like little smartphones, they suddenly heat up for 2 days for some 'system update' and then they are back to running around breaking things. Jokes aside, 3 days is the usual limit. If they are still burning after that, get the doc to check them out.
