How long before thyroid meds work?

My thyroid reports came back a bit off, and my doctor has prescribed meds. I'm a bit worried about how long it will take to feel better. How long usually does it take for thyroid medicines to show their effect?

My teenage daughter was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and it took about 4 to 6 weeks of daily medication for her energy levels to improve. Just make sure they take it on an empty stomach with plain water. It is a slow process, but they will definitely get their playful self back soon.

It easily takes 4 to 6 weeks to start working. Be patient and don't skip the morning dose.

Expect at least a month before your blood reports start showing a change. Don't overthink it, just take the pill first thing in the morning, wait 45 minutes before breakfast, and get retested after 6 weeks as prescribed. It is simple math, just stay consistent.

I have been taking the tablets for two weeks now and still feel so tired and bloated. Is it normal to feel no change at all in the beginning? I was hoping for some quick relief, but maybe I just need to wait longer like everyone says.

It takes about 4 to 8 weeks to see proper results. Set an alarm on your phone for 6 AM to take the medicine, and then you can go back to sleep. This way, you don't have to wait for breakfast later when you actually wake up.

I remember crying because I felt so exhausted even after a week of starting the pills. It took nearly 6 weeks for my mood and energy to lift, so please don't lose hope. Your body is just taking its time to balance out, you are going to be okay.

I was diagnosed three months ago and my TSH level was very high. After exactly 5 weeks of regular medication, my repeat test showed completely normal levels and my hair fall also stopped. Just stay regular and let the medicine do its job!
