How long after fever is flu contagious?

My son had a fever for three days, and now it's gone, but I'm worried about him going to school. How long can flu still spread after the fever breaks? Don't want other kids getting sick.

I totally get it, being stuck inside waiting to be safe around family is so frustrating. Usually, you can still pass it on to others for about 5 to 7 days after your symptoms first start. Even if your fever goes away today, it is best to stay a bit cautious and wash hands frequently for another day or two.

The rule is simple: you are contagious as long as you have a fever, and usually for at least 24 hours after the fever naturally subsides without any medicine. Don't rush back to office or socialise the second your temperature drops. Give it a full day of normal temperature first.

Honestly my brain is too fried to keep track of days, but my doctor told me the virus stays active in you for about a week. I just stay away from everyone because I don't have the energy to deal with people anyway. Just sleep it off for 24-48 hours after the fever breaks, dont be in a hurry.

Hey! Usually you are good to go after your fever is gone for a full 24 hours without taking any crocin or dolo. Just keep using your sanitizer and maybe avoid sharing food for a few days to be fully safe. Hope you feel energetic again very soon! 😊

Please don't go by what random people online tell you about viral shedding timelines. Everyone's immunity is different and some people stay contagious for longer. Better to just call your family doctor or physician and ask them when it is safe to resume normal activities.

Actually yaar, don't take it lightly because the flu virus spreads very fast in the house. Even if you feel totally fine now, you can transmit it to others for almost 5 to 7 days from when you first got sick. Better to stay in your room for another day or two.
