Last night I had a few drinks, and this morning I woke up with a pounding headache. I usually take Excedrin Migraine for my headaches. How long should I wait after drinking alcohol before it's safe to take this medicine?

Do not mix those two, my friend, unless you want your liver to go on strike. Wait at least 24 hours after drinking before taking Excedrin, and just stick to water and sleep for now.

Mixing pain relief pills with alcohol is very bad for the stomach and liver. I highly suggest drinking strong ginger tea or putting a cold compress on your forehead instead of taking medicine right away.

You must wait at least 24 hours because Excedrin has acetaminophen which reacts badly with alcohol in the liver. Once the alcohol is out of your system, a gentle outdoor walk can also help ease the headache naturally.

Please be very careful. My son has severe migraines too and his doctor strictly warned against taking these medicines within 24 hours of having alcohol. Just rest in a dark room and drink plenty of water.
