How long after chiropractor can you have a stroke?

My friend went to a chiropractor and later mentioned a news story about someone having a stroke after a chiropractic adjustment. It made me a bit nervous. What's the typical timeframe, if any, for such a serious complication to occur after an adjustment?

I always prefer simple warm compresses or home stretches for my neck pain instead of strong physical adjustments. While these severe complications are rare, symptoms of artery issues can sometimes show up within a few hours to a couple of weeks after a neck manipulation. Please be very gentle with your body.

It is crazy that a simple neck crack can have such risks, sometimes showing symptoms up to 7 to 14 days later. I would rather just stick to getting a nice head massage and eating my favorite street food to relax my mind! Keep an eye out for any weird headaches or dizziness.

I have heard from people that any sudden neck twists can sometimes cause problems even after many days, up to a week or two. If you feel any sudden dizziness or numbness in your face after a visit, please go straight to a big hospital.

I was reading some medical research on this, and apparently, neck manipulation can occasionally cause arterial tears leading to a stroke within 24 hours, though it can sometimes take up to a week. It is a rare risk, but definitely something to research carefully before going for neck adjustments.

If any issues occur, they usually present within a week of the adjustment. Practically speaking, if you have severe neck pain, seeing an orthopedist or a certified physiotherapist is a much safer option than random neck cracking. Always prioritize medical experts for your spine.

Since our bodies can be quite sensitive, we must be careful with aggressive physical therapies. Rare arterial injuries from neck adjustments might manifest as a stroke anywhere from a few hours to two weeks later. It is best to stick to gentler, medically-supervised therapies for spinal pain.
