How long after a vasectomy does the pain last?

I got a vasectomy done last week and I'm still experiencing some discomfort. The doctor said it would be mild, but I'm wondering if this pain is normal. For how long after a vasectomy does the pain usually last?

Usually, the mild soreness and swelling should go down within 3 to 7 days. I tracked my physical activity and avoided high heart rate zones for a full week post-procedure to let it heal. Just keep a steady eye on your recovery.

I completely panicked on day three when the ache felt a bit heavy, but actually, it is totally normal. Wearing a snug supporter and using ice packs for 15 minutes at a time made a huge difference. By day five, I was feeling much better.

Expect a dull ache for about 3 to 5 days, which shouldn't disrupt your work if you have a desk job. I scheduled mine on a Friday and was back to my office routine by Monday morning. Just avoid any heavy lifting or traveling during the first week.

The acute pain typically subsides in about 3 to 4 days, though a mild tugging sensation can linger for a week. Use simple cold compresses and take the pain relievers your doctor prescribed. If you notice any sudden severe swelling or fever, get it checked immediately.

I had a minor hematoma complication because I walked around too much on day two, which stretched my recovery to two weeks. Please take the bed rest seriously and call your doctor if the pain continues to increase after the third day.

For me, the couch was my best friend for about four days, and walking felt like a slow-motion comedy. It is just a matter of a week before you are back to normal, so enjoy the guilt-free rest while you can. Keep the ice pack ready!

My husband had this done last year and he was back to his usual routine in about 5 days. Just make sure they actually rest completely for the first 48 hours and wear supportive underwear. It really helps keep the pain away.
