How large is a kidney?

I was looking at an anatomy diagram and realized I don't really know much about internal organs. Could someone tell me, on average, how large is a kidney in an adult human? Just curious.

Usually, a kidney is about the size of a fist, maybe around 10 to 12 centimeters long. I am not an expert, but that's what I read when I was researching my own scan reports. Always best to discuss your reports with your doctor for clarity.

S seedhi baat hai, aapki mutthi ke barabar hoti hai kidney. Lagbhag 10-11 cm lambi aur thodi moti hoti hai. Agar report mein size bada ya chota aaya hai toh khud dimag mat lagao, sidha doctor se milo.

It is about 10-12 cm long, roughly the size of a computer mouse or your fist. Hope you are not worrying too much about your test results. Take care.

Actually, it’s just about the size of a fist, yaar. Like 10 to 12 cm long. If you are comparing your ultrasound reports, just talk to the doc, they will explain it way better without any stress.

When I got my ultrasound done at Max Hospital, the doctor showed me that a normal kidney is around 10 to 12 centimeters. Any minor change in size can mean different things, so please show your scan directly to a specialist instead of looking it up.
