How large are kidney stones?

My friend recently had a kidney stone removed and it looked quite big. I've been told I might have small ones too. What's the typical size range for kidney stones, like how large can they actually get?

Bhaiya, kidney stone toh chote se raaye ke dane jaise bhi hote hain aur kabhi kabhi bade kankad jaise bhi. Mere padosi ko thoda bada pathri tha, lagbhag ek chane ke barabar. Aap bilkul chinta mat karo, pani khoob sara piyo aur doctor babu ko ek baar dikha lo.

Honestly bro, they can be as small as a grain of sand or literally as big as a golf ball in crazy cases. My roommate had a 5mm one last semester and he was crying in the hostel room. Just get an ultrasound done so you know exactly what you are dealing with.

Haan na, kidney stones ka size bahut vary karta hai. Mere mama ko toh chota sa 3mm ka tha, par dukhne laga toh pata chala. Kabhi kabhi doctor bolte hain ki badey wale bina laser ke nahi nikalte. Aapka scan hua kya?

Beta, maine apni umar mein 4mm se lekar 12mm tak ke pathar sune hain doston ko hote hue. Chote wale toh bina pata chale nikal jaate hain sirf thode dard ke sath. Par bada ho toh zyada pareshani hoti hai, isliye time par checkup kara lena hi aqalmandi hai.

My doctor told me that kidney stones can be anywhere from a few millimeters to a couple of centimeters. Since I manage my diabetes, I have to be very careful with my overall diet and hydration. Please don't try any heavy home remedies without asking a doctor first, especially if you have other health issues.

They range from 1mm up to over 20mm. If it is under 5mm, it usually passes on its own with plenty of water. Anything larger might need medical intervention like lithotripsy, so don't waste time guessing and get an ultrasound done over the weekend.

People on the internet will tell you all sorts of sizes and weird juices to dissolve them. Actually, only a proper doctor can tell the exact size after a sonography. Don't self-diagnose or try raw home remedies, go get it verified by a professional urologist.
