How is throat cancer diagnosed?

My father has been having a persistent sore throat and hoarseness for months, and it's starting to worry us. What are the common methods used to diagnose throat cancer? What tests are involved?

Oh god, even a small hoarseness makes me search for throat cancer symptoms and panic for days. But actually, they diagnose it through a proper laryngoscopy where they put a small camera down the throat, and then a biopsy if they find anything. Please get it checked by an ENT specialist so you can stop stressing.

Man, when my throat was acting up, I couldn't even enjoy my hot jalebis and poha! But seriously, if you are having constant swallowing issues, a doctor will look inside with a scope and maybe order a CT scan. Don't ignore it, once the diagnosis is clear you can get treated and go back to enjoying your food.

Hey, don't stress too much about this right now, okay? Usually, the doctor just starts with a simple physical exam and a thin scope to see what's causing the trouble. Most throat issues turn out to be minor infections, so just go for a quick checkup and clear your mind.

Waiting for the throat biopsy results was honestly the longest and most agonizing week of my family's life. The fear is so heavy and it completely drains you emotionally. Just hold on, take it one step at a time, and rely on your close family members during the testing phase.

Listen, if you have a voice change or throat pain that hasn't gone away in weeks, don't just keep drinking hot water. Go to an ENT specialist. They will do a laryngoscopy and a biopsy if required, which is the only real way to diagnose throat cancer. Simple as that.

When we were dealing with my father's diagnosis, the key was finding a high-quality oncologist early. They did a fine-needle biopsy and a PET scan to get the exact details. My advice is to always get a second opinion on the pathology report from a major cancer hospital just to be absolutely sure.

You can't guess these things at home. You need to visit a proper ENT specialist who will do an endoscopy of the throat right there in the clinic. If they spot any suspicious tissue, they will do a biopsy to confirm. Keep it simple and get the professional tests done.

I can only speak from what my uncle went through last year. His doctor first did an endoscopy in the cabin to check his vocal cords, and then sent him for a biopsy and an MRI scan. We didn't try to guess anything ourselves and just followed the hospital's steps completely.
