How is tb transmitted?

My colleague's child has TB, and now there's a lot of talk about it in the office. I'm trying to understand more. How is TB transmitted from person to person?

I was actually reading up on this yesterday out of curiosity because of a project. It is strictly airborne, meaning when an infected person coughs or sneezes, the bacteria float in the air. You can't get it from touch or sharing drinks, which was surprising for me to learn.

I had lung TB five years ago, and I can tell you it only transmits through the air. If you are caring for a TB patient, make sure the room has excellent ventilation and they wear a mask during the initial weeks of treatment. Once they are on medications for a couple of weeks, the transmission risk drops significantly.

Haan na, it only transmits through the air when the patient talks or coughs openly. It doesn't spread by sharing utensils or holding hands, so we shouldn't make the patient feel bad. Just keeping the room airy is enough.

As a mother, I was terrified when a kid in my son's class had a prolonged cough. The doctor reassured me that TB only transmits through direct inhalation of airborne droplets from close, prolonged contact. Keep your child's immunity up and teach them to cover their mouth when coughing.

In my long life, I have seen many people recover from TB and live fully normal lives. It only spreads through coughing and sneezing in the air, not by touching or sharing food. Don't worry, with modern medicines, it is easily treatable and the spread can be stopped very quickly.

My mother always told us to keep windows open for fresh air when someone has a cough, which is very true for TB because it spreads through air droplets. However, please consult a proper doctor to understand how to protect your family members if someone nearby is diagnosed.

It is an airborne thing, bro. When someone with active TB coughs, those tiny germs stay in the air and if you breathe them in, you can get it. Just don't hang out in tiny, packed rooms with people who have bad coughs, and you will be fine.
