How is rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed?

My joints have been feeling very stiff and painful, especially in the mornings. My mother-in-law has rheumatoid arthritis, so I'm a bit worried. How do doctors usually figure out if it's actually RA or something else?

Beta, rheumatoid arthritis is diagnosed using a mix of blood tests like Rheumatoid Factor (RF) and Anti-CCP, along with X-rays of your joints. You should consult a rheumatologist who will check your joint swelling and morning stiffness.

At my age, waking up with stiff joints is a daily routine, but for rheumatoid arthritis, doctors have proper tests. They do blood tests and joint X-rays to see the exact inflammation. Don't just blame old age like I do, get it checked!

It is diagnosed through specific blood tests like RF and anti-CCP, along with joint X-rays or ultrasounds by a rheumatologist.

My mom was diagnosed with this last year. The specialist checked her hand joints, did blood tests for CRP and RF, and took X-rays of her wrists. Just go to a rheumatologist, they will guide you through the exact tests.

I was super anxious when my fingers started aching, thinking it was rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor reassured me and did some blood tests like ESR and RF, which thankfully came back clear. Definitely see a specialist so you don't overthink like me.
