How is malaria spread?

Monsoon season is starting soon, and we usually hear about malaria cases increasing. Can someone explain simply how malaria spreads?

It only spreads through bites from infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It doesn't spread from person to person by touch.

I panicked so much when my roommate got malaria, thinking I would get it too. Honestly, the doctor laughed and said it is not contagious like flu. Just keep the mosquito nets up and you both will be absolutely fine.

I remember getting so worried during monsoon. Malaria only spreads when those specific female mosquitoes bite you, so don't worry about sitting with an infected friend. Just use a good repellant cream when going out in the evenings.

Agree with everyone here, it is strictly through mosquito bites. Make sure there is no stagnant water near your windows.

Beta, malaria is spread strictly when a specific mosquito bites you after biting an infected person. It is not like cold or cough that spreads through the air. Just ensure you clean out your coolers and keep windows closed in the evenings.
