How is hepatitis a transmitted?

My cousin just came back from a trip and is feeling quite sick, with yellow eyes. We are all wondering about hepatitis A, so could you please explain how it's transmitted?

It spreads when you consume water or food contaminated with the virus. When I had it, I ignored the initial fatigue and ended up with severe jaundice. Please go see a doctor if you feel unwell; don't take it lightly.

It's transmitted through the fecal-oral route, meaning contaminated food, water, or dirty hands. Just ensure you are eating at hygienic places and drinking filtered water, especially during the rainy season.

Bhai, seedhi baat hai, yeh gande paani aur bina dhule khane se phailta hai. Stop eating open street food for a while and always wash your hands with soap before touching your food. Prevention is better than taking medicines later.

Yeah, it basically spreads through contaminated water and food. In college, we always buy bottled water from outside because local tap water can easily carry the virus during monsoons.

I read that it is passed through dirty food and water. Does this mean it doesn't spread through coughing or sneezing like a cold? I am still trying to learn about how it works.
