How is contraction pain?

I'm expecting my first baby next month, and everyone keeps talking about labor pain, especially contractions. I want to mentally prepare myself. How is contraction pain usually described? Is it very bad?

Haan na, contraction pain actually thoda back se start hokar pure stomach tak aata hai, like severe cramps. It comes and goes in a proper pattern. Apne doctor se discuss karke breathing techniques seekh lo, thoda help milti hai.

It feels like a wave of intense tightening that peaks and then slowly releases. Practicing gentle deep breathing and keeping your mind calm helps you ride through each wave. Always listen to your obstetrician's guidance as the time nears.

I agree, it feels like highly intense menstrual cramping that grows stronger over time. Keep track of the intervals and call your hospital immediately.

Beta, in our days we used to drink a cup of warm water or milk, but the pain is a natural process of the body tightening to bring the baby. Keep your mind strong, stay in a comfortable position, and make sure your doctor is informed immediately.

Honestly, my elder sister described it as the most intense tightening and back pain she ever felt. It is not like regular stomach ache at all, it apparently comes in very specific waves.

Contraction pain feels like severe, wave-like tightening in the abdomen and lower back. Please contact your doctor once they start coming regularly.

My wife's mother advised her to walk slowly during early contractions to cope with the tightening sensation. However, always trust your doctor's instructions on when to head to the hospital, especially if the pain becomes very close together.
