How is aimovig different from other migraine drugs?

My doctor mentioned a new migraine medication called Aimovig. I've been on other migraine drugs for years without much success. How is Aimovig different from other migraine drugs I might have tried?

Bro, from what I know, Aimovig is like a modern monthly injection specifically designed to prevent migraines, unlike those regular painkillers we pop after the headache already starts. It's a bit expensive but is supposed to target the actual brain pathways directly.

I have tried almost every migraine tablet under the sun. Aimovig is a CGRP inhibitor, meaning it is a preventive treatment that you take once a month to reduce the frequency of attacks, rather than an acute treatment. Talk to a neurologist because it is highly specialized and not suitable for everyone.

Aimovig is a targeted antibody injection, which is quite different from older daily beta-blocker drugs that make you feel sluggish and tired during workouts. However, even with advanced meds, staying hydrated, eating clean, and maintaining a regular sleep schedule are your best natural defenses against migraine triggers.

When managing chronic conditions like diabetes, we have to be very careful with standard pain medications as they can affect the kidneys over time. Aimovig works differently as a biologic injection. Always consult your specialist to ensure it doesn't interfere with your ongoing medications.

My grandmother suggests putting herbal oils, but for severe migraines, medical science has advanced so much. Aimovig is a newer class of preventive medicine. Please consult a good neurologist in a reputed hospital who can explain if this monthly injection is safe and right for you.

I had some severe constipation issues and site reactions when I tried CGRP injections. They are highly effective but definitely come with specific side effects that you must discuss with your doctor. Do not start or change any migraine medication without expert guidance.

While advanced preventive drugs like Aimovig help reduce the physical intensity of migraine attacks, gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom can calm the nervous system naturally. Combining medical treatments with a calm lifestyle is the best way to heal your body.
