How is a liver function test performed?

My recent health check-up results showed some elevated liver enzymes, and the doctor suggested a liver function test. I'm wondering, how is this test performed? Is it just a blood test?

A Liver Function Test, or LFT, is actually a simple blood test. My doctor told me it measures different enzymes and proteins like SGOT, SGPT, and bilirubin in your blood. You need to fast for 8 to 12 hours before giving the sample for accurate results.

I have been getting LFT tests done every six months for my cholesterol tracking. It is just like any normal blood draw from your arm. The lab technician will tie a band, take the blood in a small vial, and you get the reports by evening.

Haan, bas subah khaali pet jana hota hai blood sample dene ke liye. Doctor bolte hain ki LFT se liver ki health ka pata chal jata hai easily. Pain toh bilkul nahi hota, bas ek chota sa sui ka pinch feel hoga, na!

I just recovered from jaundice last week, so I had to do this multiple times recently. It is a simple blood test, nothing to worry about. Just drink some water in the morning so your veins are easy to find for the blood collection.

Actually, it's very chill, yaar. I got it done last month because of some acidity issues. You just book a home collection, the guy comes in the morning, takes a syringe of blood, and that's it. Just make sure you don't eat anything after dinner the night before.
