How i know if i have asthma?

Sometimes I get this tightness in my chest and a wheezing sound, especially when I exercise or in dusty places. My family has a history of respiratory issues. How do I know if these symptoms mean I have asthma?

If you are having a continuous cough, especially at night, and a whistling sound when you breathe, it could be asthma. I suggest getting a Spirometry test done; it is the standard test and usually costs around 500 to 1000 rupees in most diagnostic labs. Getting this tested early will save you a lot of money on emergency doctor visits later.

My son has asthma, and we first noticed it when he would get a dry cough that got worse whenever he ran around or when the weather changed. If you feel tightness in your chest or find yourself gasping for air after mild physical work, please take it seriously. It is very manageable once a pediatrician or chest specialist prescribes the right inhaler.

According to my pulmonologist, the classic triad of asthma symptoms is wheezing, shortness of breath, and a chronic cough that gets worse during cold weather or due to dust exposure. He explained that asthma causes inflammation of the airways, making them narrow and sensitive. You should definitely consult a doctor for a proper lung function test.

I used to get this weird chest tightness and felt like I couldn't draw a full breath whenever I cleaned my room or got near cat fur. When I finally went to the doctor, they confirmed it was mild asthma triggered by allergies. If you are having similar breathing issues, please go get a simple checkup done.

Haan, if you are getting that 'seeti' like whistling sound from your chest while breathing, then it might be asthma. Especially in winter and pollution, physical activity makes it worse, na? Don't ignore this thinking it is just a normal dust allergy, and get a doctor's advice on this.
