How i knew i had throat cancer?

My voice has been hoarse for a long time, and I sometimes feel a lump in my throat when I swallow. My doctor asked me to get it checked. What are the common ways people discover they might have throat cancer?

My uncle actually had this hoarse voice for more than a month, yaar. We thought it was just too much ice cream or some throat infection, but the medicine didn't work at all. When he started having pain while swallowing normal food, we got scared and took him to an ENT specialist immediately.

My PG mate's father had this painless lump on the side of his neck that just wasn't going away. He also felt like something was constantly stuck in his throat when swallowing. If you are noticing any weird swelling or change in your voice that lasts for weeks, please get it checked by a doc.

My grandfather went through this, and his first symptom was an unexplained, constant sore throat along with sudden weight loss. He also complained of a weird clicking sound when swallowing. It is so important to catch these things early, so please make an appointment with a specialist if you have these issues.

Any persistent cough, constant ear pain on one side, or difficulty in opening the mouth properly needs proper medical attention. Please do not try any warm water rinses or home remedies for more than a few days if the symptoms are not improving. Go to an ENT doctor for a proper laryngoscopy.

I had a massive scare last year when my voice became totally hoarse for nearly a month and I felt a small bump in my throat. I panicked so much thinking it was cancer, but the doctor did an endoscopy and found it was just severe acid reflux and a benign vocal cord nodule. Don't stress too much, but do get it checked to be sure!
