How high is a serious fever?

My husband has been unwell with a fever for a couple of days, and it seems to be getting quite high. When does a fever become serious enough to need immediate medical attention? How high is considered a serious fever?

I can only speak from my own experience with typhoid. When my fever crossed 103 F, I felt completely disoriented and couldn't even stand up. That was definitely a serious level for me, and I had to be admitted.

Please be very careful. My brother ignored a 103 fever and developed severe pneumonia. Anything above 102.5 F is serious and you should not try to manage it at home without a doctor's prescription.

Hey! Usually, anything above 103°F is considered a pretty serious fever. Don't worry too much, just consult your doctor and keep drinking lots of water and coconut water! 🥤

A fever is a sign of an underlying infection, and anything touching 103 degrees is highly serious for adults. It is always safest to consult a qualified physician immediately rather than waiting to see if it drops.

Look, if the thermometer is showing 103, stop searching on the internet and go to the clinic. 101-102 can wait for a morning appointment, but 103 is serious and needs immediate attention.
