How has social media affected people's mental health?

I see a lot of my friends constantly glued to their phones, and sometimes it makes them feel low if they don't get likes. It makes me wonder, how has social media truly affected people's mental health, especially for young people like us?

It keeps people glued to screens, which destroys their sleep and physical health. My doctor advised me to replace scroll time with a 30-minute evening walk, and it drastically reduced my anxiety. Getting moving in nature is the best detox for a digital mind.

My smartwatch always alerts me when my heart rate spikes from mindless scrolling late at night. Setting app limits and tracking my daily screen time has helped me sleep much better. Using tech to actively limit our social media consumption is highly necessary now.

Completely agree, it has made everyone very anxious. Keeping weekends entirely screen-free helps a lot in restoring mental calm.

When I was dealing with severe sleep issues, my psychiatrist explained how the blue light and high stimulation of social media delay melatonin production. She advised me to stop looking at any screen two hours before bedtime. This simple scientific change has completely cured my daytime brain fog.

Haan na, people have stopped enjoying real-life moments because they are too busy posting stories. This constant need for likes creates so much unnecessary pressure and stress inside. We should focus on our real family and friends instead of online validation.

Actually yaar, comparing your life to everyone's perfect vacation photos on Instagram is so toxic. It makes you feel like you are achieving nothing in life, which is total nonsense. I uninstalled two apps last month and my mental peace has improved so much.

Social media is engineered to hook your dopamine system, leading to high rates of FOMO and depression. It is high time people realize that digital detoxes are not a trend, but a necessity for survival. Cut down your screen time and regain control of your focus.
