How hard is it to get disability for rheumatoid arthritis?

My wife has been struggling with rheumatoid arthritis for a long time, and the pain is getting worse. She's finding it difficult to manage household chores. We are thinking about applying for disability, but we don't know the process. Is it very complicated?

Actually yaar, getting the disability certificate for RA is quite a task because the joint damage needs to be clearly visible in X-rays and severe enough to restrict daily movement. You have to go to a government hospital and get assessed by their medical board. It takes a lot of patience with the paperwork.

I know how painful and exhausting rheumatoid arthritis can be. Getting the official certificate requires a lot of medical documentation, but please don't lose hope. Take care of your health first.

Look, it is not easy to get. The medical board will check if your joint deformity is above 40% permanent disability according to their guidelines. Don't go through middlemen; collect all your hospital reports, prescriptions, and X-rays, and apply directly at your district civil hospital.

I can completely understand how overwhelming and anxious you must feel when your body doesn't support you and you have to fight for a certificate. It is a very draining process emotionally. Just take it step by step, keep your medical history ready, and lean on your family for support.

While you work on the legal disability criteria, don't stop doing low-impact joint movements. Gentle swimming or stationary cycling can keep the surrounding muscles strong and prevent further joint fusion. Keep your nutrition high in omega-3s to fight the inflammation.

I feel your pain, joints get so stiff during winters that even holding a cup becomes hard. While you apply for the official papers, try gently rubbing warm mustard oil with garlic on your joints for temporary relief. Be patient with the government process, it takes time.
