How gaming can improve mental health h2hgeeks?

I spend a lot of time gaming, and sometimes my parents tell me it's a waste of time. But I actually feel it helps me relax and destress. I'm curious, how can gaming actually improve mental health? Any real benefits?

I totally get it, sometimes when life gets too stressful, you just need an escape. Playing a cozy game for an hour really helps distract your mind from daily anxiety and gives you a sense of achievement. It is a very valid way to relax and unwind after a long day.

Gaming is actually a very low-cost way to de-stress compared to expensive therapy sessions or outings. You don't need a high-end console; even free mobile games can help lower cortisol levels. Just keep a check on your screen time so it doesn't affect your sleep.

My father always tells me to go walk in nature to clear my mind, which is great advice. But my therapist actually told me that moderate gaming can help improve cognitive skills and reduce stress. So I balance both—a walk in the evening and 30 minutes of gaming.

I used gaming to cope with severe work stress last year. The trick is to play cooperative or puzzle games that stimulate your brain, rather than highly competitive ones that increase frustration. Keep it limited to an hour a day, and it acts as a great mental reset.

While gaming can offer temporary relief, please don't use it to ignore deeper mental health struggles. I tried to suppress my anxiety with gaming for months until it turned into severe panic attacks and I had to see a psychiatrist. If you are struggling, please consult a professional doctor.

I was reading some articles about how video games help with dopamine release and stress relief. It seems multiplayer games can also help people feel less lonely by connecting them with friends online. It's quite interesting how gaming has evolved into a mental wellness tool.
