How fast does prostate cancer metastasis?

A friend of mine is going through treatment for prostate cancer. He's worried if it's already spread. How fast does prostate cancer typically metastasize to other parts of the body?

From what I have seen over the years, prostate cancer usually takes a very long time, often many years, to metastasize to bones. Modern hormonal therapies are highly effective at keeping it under control. Stay hopeful, as medical science has progressed tremendously.

Don't stress too much, buddy. For the vast majority of men, prostate cancer is very slow-growing and takes years to spread, if it spreads at all. Just make sure to get the regular checkups done and let the doctors handle the rest.

While typical prostate cancer is slow, some aggressive variants can metastasize much faster. It's critical to look at the Gleason score from the biopsy. Get a clear timeline and management plan from your oncologist rather than searching online.

My father's PSA levels went up suddenly, and I am so anxious that it might have already started spreading to his bones. Did anyone else's family go through this sudden jump? I am really struggling to sleep waiting for the bone scan results.

Listen to me, don't let yourself get overwhelmed by fear. In most cases, this cancer moves very slowly over years, giving you plenty of time to treat it. We will get the scans done, consult the best doctor, and face this step-by-step.
