How fast do lung cancer tumors grow?

My uncle was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and it was quite advanced when detected. I'm trying to understand more about this. How fast do lung cancer tumors generally grow, from small to noticeable size?

I stayed up till 3 AM reading about this because of a cough scare. Apparently, small cell lung cancer can grow and spread like crazy in just a few weeks, while non-small cell is a bit slower. Honestly, just go to a doctor instead of ruining your sleep searching this online.

I've seen people suggesting herbal teas to 'shrink' lung tumors. This is highly dangerous. Lung cancer growth rate varies wildly depending on the tumor type—some double in size in a month, others take a year. Get a proper biopsy and PET scan; do not rely on internet myths.

I completely understand the absolute terror you must be feeling while typing this question. The thought of tumor growth can make your heart race. Please know that non-small cell lung cancers usually grow slowly over months, giving you time to consult doctors and plan the best path forward safely.

My father's pulmonologist explained that lung tumors are categorized by their doubling time. Small cell carcinoma is highly aggressive and requires immediate chemotherapy because of its rapid growth. An accurate diagnosis via CT scan and biopsy is the only way to determine the growth rate.

If you are monitoring symptoms, modern health apps can help you track any changes in your breathing rate, oxygen levels, or cough frequency over the weeks. Tumor growth rates vary, but tracking these vital trends gives your medical team very useful data for your consultations.

I was looking up some oncology research recently and was surprised to find that tumor doubling time is the key. For some aggressive lung cancers, it can be less than 30 days, while for others it's more than 100 days. It's incredibly specific to the cell type under a microscope.

While eating fresh garlic and practicing breathing exercises can support general lung wellness, they cannot stop tumor growth. Lung tumors can sometimes grow very rapidly. Please do not delay proper medical tests like a biopsy or CT scan in favor of home remedies.

The speed of these conditions can be very unsettling for the soul. While medical treatments must proceed quickly to manage the physical growth, doing gentle, deep pranayama can help expand lung capacity and bring peace to the mind. Stay calm and trust the healing process.
