How fast do cavities develop?

I went for a dental check-up, and the dentist said I have a small cavity. I was quite surprised because I brush regularly. How fast do cavities generally develop, even with good oral hygiene?

Cavity quickly nahi banti, haan na. It usually takes months or even a year for the tooth enamel to slowly break down. But if we eat too much sweet and don't brush at night, then it can progress faster, ho na. Regular cleaning is very important.

My dentist told me cavities don't just appear overnight, they take around several months to a year to actually form a proper hole. But once it crosses the enamel and hits the inner part, it starts hurting like crazy super fast. Better to get it checked early.

Honestly, I'm too tired to even brush my teeth some nights, but then I remember how fast my last cavity grew and I jump out of bed. It took about 6 months of me ignoring a small black spot for it to turn into a full root canal. Don't be lazy like me, brush twice!

Please don't worry too much, cavities develop very slowly over many months. If you have noticed a small spot, a quick visit to a dentist can easily fix it with a simple filling before it causes any pain. Take care.

I ignored a tiny sensitivity in my molar for about 8 months thinking it was normal. By the time I went to the doc, the cavity had deep roots and I needed a proper filling. It takes time to build up, but once it starts, it won't stop on its own.
