How does weed affect mental health?

Some of my friends have started using weed quite regularly, and I'm getting a bit worried about them. I've heard it can affect mental health significantly. Can someone explain how using weed impacts a person's mind and emotions, especially long-term?

It can initially feel relaxing, but it often leads to deep anxiety, memory issues, and low motivation over time. Drinking warm chamomile tea or Brahmi water is a wonderful natural way to soothe your nerves safely. But if you are experiencing severe panic or depression, please consult a medical doctor.

It temporary calms the mind, but slowly it disturbs the natural flow of your thoughts and increases laziness. In my experience, relying on external substances weakens your inner mental strength. Regular practice of pranayama and meditation is the best way to find true, long-lasting peace.

Haan na, initially people think it is cool and relaxing, but actually, it makes the anxiety much worse later. It can make you feel super paranoid and completely out of focus the next day. It is better to stay away from it for a healthy mind.

I get so anxious just thinking about how it permanently changes brain chemistry and can cause paranoia or memory lapses. It is really scary how a small habit can slowly mess up our mental health without us realizing it. Please stay safe and talk to a therapist if you need emotional support.

It alters your dopamine regulation, which can mess with your sleep cycles and increase anxiety levels in the long run. I track my sleep on my fitness band, and anytime there is substance use, the deep sleep and REM metrics drop significantly. For optimal brain recovery, keeping your system clean is key.

I can only share my own experience, but smoking weed regularly for two years made me extremely unsocial and gave me terrible panic attacks out of nowhere. Once I stopped completely, my head cleared up and my daily anxiety levels dropped immensely. It took me some time, but my mind is much calmer now.

It is supposed to make you feel relaxed, but when I tried it once, it gave me a massive panic attack and my heart started racing like crazy. Did anyone else experience this terrible feeling of losing control? I am still scared to even think about it.

Honestly, so many guys in my hostel smoke up saying it cures their exam stress, but they actually end up totally demotivated and failing classes. Over time, it just makes your brain super lazy and increases overthinking. Better to just hit the gym or play some sports to de-stress.

Listen, don't believe anyone who tells you weed is harmless for your mental state. It can trigger severe panic attacks and unlock underlying anxiety issues that are very hard to deal with later. If you are feeling stressed, talk to me or a counselor, but don't look for answers in smoking up.

It might temporarily lower cortisol, but it ultimately decreases your natural drive, focus, and physical energy levels. If you want a real, natural high that actually improves your brain and body, focus on heavy lifting and a high-protein diet. Your mental clarity will skyrocket.
