How does stress affect mental health?

Work pressure has been a bit much lately, and I'm finding it hard to focus or even feel happy sometimes. My friend said it could be stress affecting my mind. So, I was wondering, how exactly does stress impact our mental health?

Honestly, stress completely messed up my focus last year during placements. I was barely sleeping and irritated all the time. Taking a step back and hitting the gym really helped clear my head, bro.

Haan na, stress se pura mind blank ho jata hai sometimes. We think it is just a headache but it slowly eats up our happiness, ho na. Just take deep breaths and talk to a close friend when it gets too much.

I totally get it, the mental exhaustion makes even getting out of bed feel like a massive chore. Please be gentle with yourself right now because your mind is just tired. Sending you lots of strength to get through this phase.

Stress actually spikes your cortisol which directly messes up your blood sugar levels. When I am tensed, my glucose readings go crazy even if I eat boiled veggies. That is why managing mental peace is just as important as skipping sweet treats.

It ruins your daily productivity and leads to burnout very quickly. I block thirty minutes every evening just to disconnect completely from my laptop and phone. If you let it pile up, your work and mental peace both suffer.

When my anxiety became too constant, I visited the psychiatry department at Max Hospital. The specialist explained how chronic stress alters brain chemistry and prescribed therapy. I highly suggest consulting a proper professional rather than trying to self-diagnose online.

I used to think my sudden mood swings and brain fog were some major psychiatric issues and got so scared. But once I worked on my work-life balance, things settled down beautifully. It is very common and completely reversible, so please do not panic.

Whenever I am stressed, my heart starts racing and I get this constant negative chatter in my head. Does anyone else also feel like they are losing control over small things when workload increases? It feels so isolating.
