How does ovarian cancer start?

My mother's friend was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and it was quite shocking for everyone. We want to understand more about it – how does ovarian cancer typically start in the body?

It starts when abnormal cells in the ovaries or fallopian tubes begin to grow out of control. Reading about this at 2 AM is definitely not helping my sleep. But honestly, if you have weird bloating or pain, skip the late-night searching and just ask a doc.

I've been experiencing some persistent bloating and pelvic discomfort recently. Is that how it usually begins, or could it be something common like normal gas? I feel a bit shy asking my parents about a gynecologist visit.

It starts silently with some cellular drama in the ovaries, often showing vague signs like bloating that we mistake for too much Chole Bhature. Don't let Google convince you that you have stage 4 of everything, just go get a quick scan to keep your mind happy!

My aunt went through this. It started with basic stomach bloating and back pain that she ignored for months thinking it was just acidity. It actually starts deep in the ovaries. Please tell the women in your family to get regular screenings done if they feel off.

It begins when genetic mutations cause ovarian cells to multiply rapidly, forming a tumor. The symptoms are notoriously vague, like early satiety or abdominal pain. Please consult an oncologist or gynecologist immediately for an ultrasound if you notice persistent changes.
