How does inspire sleep work?

I've been dealing with sleep apnea for quite a while now, and honestly, the CPAP machine is just not comfortable for me. I recently heard about something called 'Inspire Sleep' as an alternative. How exactly does this system work to help with sleep?

Hey, don't stress too much about these high-tech things unless your doctor really recommends it. From what I know, it is like a tiny device they put inside that helps keep your airway open while you sleep. It basically senses your breathing pattern. But relax, there are simpler ways to fix sleep issues first!

This Inspire therapy involves a surgical procedure, so it is bound to be very expensive in India and might not even be covered by standard health insurance. Better to start with a sleep study clinic first to see how bad the issue is. Don't jump into high-cost options without calculating all expenses.

I totally understand how scary it is when you can't sleep properly, the anxiety is just horrible. Reading about surgeries and implants can make you even more anxious. Take a deep breath. Try talking to a doctor first, they will guide you step by step.

My doctor told me sleep apnea and high BP are closely connected. Before looking into implants like Inspire, please get a proper sleep study done. Changing my salt intake, reducing weight, and doing regular health checkups helped my breathing and sleep quality a lot.

Think of Inspire as an implantable device that stimulates the nerve controlling your tongue so it doesn't block your breathing. It is only for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. You definitely need a proper evaluation by an ENT specialist to see if you are even eligible.

I was actually reading about this last night out of pure curiosity! It is basically an alternative for people who cannot tolerate CPAP masks for sleep apnea. It works inside your body by gently stimulating your airway muscles. Pretty futuristic stuff, but seems like a big step to take.
