How does glp 1 work for diabetes?

My endocrinologist mentioned a new class of drugs, GLP-1 agonists, for my diabetes management. It sounds promising, but I'm not clear on how it works. Can someone explain how GLP-1 helps with diabetes?

Man, keeping up with these medical terms is exhausting when you barely sleep. From what I understand, GLP-1 mimics a hormone that tells your pancreas to release insulin only when you eat, so your blood sugar doesn't go crazy. It also slows down digestion, which is why people feel full longer and stop raiding the fridge at 2 AM.

GLP-1 is very effective because it signals the brain that you are full, which naturally stops overeating. Since it slows down stomach emptying, make sure to eat light, fiber-rich vegetarian meals to avoid bloating. Avoid heavy, fried foods as they can make the digestive side effects worse.

Our bodies have a beautiful natural mechanism, and these modern treatments just help restore that balance when it is lost. GLP-1 encourages your pancreas to function harmoniously with your meals. Keep a positive mind, eat fresh food, and let the healing process work.

These medications work by mimicking gut hormones to improve insulin response and slow down digestion. In my experience, supporting this therapy with gentle pranayama like Kapalbhati helps improve your gut health and keeps your digestive system calm while the medicine does its job.

GLP-1 receptor agonists are very advanced medications that stimulate insulin release and slow gastric emptying. However, because they can affect your thyroid or pancreas, you must get your baseline blood tests and pancreatic enzymes checked by an endocrinologist before starting them. Safety should always come first.

I read that it helps lower blood sugar by releasing insulin after meals, but I am really anxious about the nausea side effect. Has anyone else here felt really sick in the first few weeks of taking GLP-1 therapy, or does it get better over time?
