How does breast cancer metastasis?

My aunt's breast cancer has spread, and it's very worrying for us. The doctors used the term 'metastasis', and I'm trying to understand what that actually means. How does breast cancer spread to other parts of the body?

Metastasis happens when the cancer cells break away from the breast and travel through the blood or lymph system to other organs like bones or lungs. Just like I have to do regular thyroid scans to keep things monitored, cancer patients need strict follow-up tests. Regular checkups are the only way to catch any spread early.

When my sister was going through her breast cancer treatment, the doctors explained that cells can sometimes enter the bloodstream and settle in other parts of the body. We were always on edge about it, but her oncologist kept a very close eye on her blood markers. I can't give medical details, but keeping in constant touch with your cancer doctor is vital.

Hey, don't stress too much reading all these complicated terms online, it will only make you anxious. Yes, metastasis means the cancer has spread to other areas, but oncology has advanced so much now that doctors have specific therapies to target this. Just support your loved one and trust their medical team.

Haan, basically cancer cells locally travel karke lymph nodes tak pahunchte hain, aur fir wahan se blood ke through baaki body organs mein spread ho sakte hain. It is a serious stage, na. Isiliye doctor hamesha starting se hi check karte rehte hain ki spread toh nahi hua.

I was actually reading about this the other day out of curiosity. It seems the cells detach from the primary tumor, invade nearby blood vessels, and then travel to places like the liver or brain where they grow again. The biology behind how cells migrate is really complex, but it's basically the body's transport system being misused by cancer.

Beti, ye bimari khoon ke raste se ya phir sharir ki naliyo se hoke dusri jagah fail jati hai, jaise haddiya ya liver mein. Bhagwan na kare kisi ke saath aisa ho. Agar kisi ko aisi takleef hai, toh bade hospital mein achhe doctor ko dikhana chahiye, laparwahi bilkul nahi karni hai.
