How does asthma happen?

For my biology project, I'm researching respiratory diseases and am very curious about asthma. Can someone explain the basic mechanism – how does asthma actually happen in the body?

Asthma basically happens because of an oversensitive immune system reacting to daily things like dust, pollen, or cold air. In my daughter's case, even a simple viral cold triggers this swelling in her breathing tubes. Keeping the home clean and following the doctor's controller medication plan is what keeps her safe.

I was just diagnosed with adult-onset asthma after a severe lung infection last winter. It happens when your bronchial tubes get inflamed and the muscles around them suddenly contract, blocking the air flow. Getting my spirometry test done was a wake-up call, and using the daily inhalers has finally made me feel normal again.

It happens when the delicate breathing passages get irritated and filled with excess phlegm, making the breath heavy. While you must strictly follow your doctor's medicine, drinking warm water with a little basil and ginger can help soothe the throat. One must always keep the chest warm and protected from cold winds.

For me, it seems to happen whenever there is a sudden change in weather or when the pollution levels spike in October. My chest starts feeling tight and I begin wheezing, which is my body's way of saying the airways are irritated. I always check in with my doctor to adjust my doses during these seasonal changes.

My cousin got diagnosed recently, and the doctor explained that asthma happens when the airways are hyper-reactive. So, while a dusty room might make us cough once or twice, it triggers a full-blown inflammatory response and muscle tightening in her. Knowing your specific triggers is the first step to managing it.

This illness happens when our breathing pipes get swollen from inside because of dust, smoke, or cold water. The air cannot pass properly, and that is why we feel breathless and hear a whistling sound from the chest. Do not sit at home with this, go to a good government doctor and get the proper puff medicine.

Asthma happens due to a combination of family history and exposure to environmental irritants like smoke or dust. The airways respond to these triggers by swelling up and narrowing, which causes the breathlessness. If you or your kids are experiencing this, getting an early checkup with a specialist can prevent long-term lung strain.
